2003 South Underclass Showcase
Hancock is a Junior left-hander who showed us some very good pitchability in Waco. At 5 foot 11 and 170 pounds he showed an easy 80-83 mph with his fastball and he really worked both sides of the plate well. He commanded his pitches and proved to be one of the more polished hurlers at the showcase. His curveball was a good 68-71 mph breaker and again showed nice control and at times he spun it with a very sharp bite. He has a nice delivery, gets on top of the ball and works at a fast pace. Once he established a rhythm at the South Underclass showcase he cruised by batters at an efficient pace. He also showed some athleticism by running a 7.19 and swung the bat well. He hit the ball where it was pitched and looked good. On the mound he has some big time potential.
