Ramos is a 5-11 junior shortstop from Miami with all the tools and actions to keep playing shortstop at the higher levels. He has a wiry strong body with very good athletic balance. Ramos ran the 60 in 7.01 and showed excellent range in the field with very quick feet. He looked especially good at going to his backhand side. Ramos threw 83 mph across the infield in drills and the same type of easy arm strength in games as well. At the plate, Ramos hits from a spread stance and generates very good bat speed with power to the center of the field. He took one ball off the right centerfield fence and showed his speed underway in stretching it out for a triple. Ramos also took a turn on the mound, showing his arm strength by throwing 84 mph for 2 innings from a free wheeling Kevin Brown type of delivery. Ramos’ tools and skills are impressive for a premium position player and he has a bright future.
