Nicholas Shumpert is a 2015 SS with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Lone Tree, CO who attends Highlands Ranch HS. Strongly built, highly athletic next level frame. Shows off above average arm strength across the diamond and was under control with his throws. Very comfortable, advanced defensively player with soft hands and good lateral actions. Has improved his arm strength and looks the part at shortstop. Bats right-handed, works from a high back elbow setup and takes an aggressive but controlled swing. Shows huge raw power in batting practice and carries into into game action. Power plays to the middle of the field and bat speed jumps off the page. Moves well down the line and plays the game with a great deal of energy. Has next level hand speed and juice in his bat. Continues to improve and took a big step forward in this event. Good student. Named to Top Prospect list.
