Luis Chavez is a 2016 C with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Somerset Academy Charter HS. Compact strong build. Right handed hitter, moves into contact well, has strength and quickness in his hands, stays balanced, short quick pull oriented swing, has some bat speed and the ball comes off the barrel well, line drive swing plane, hits with confidence. Nice quickness behind the plate, shifts and blocks well, quick exchange and release, plenty of raw arm strength, 1.75 pop time in drills. Solid all around talent. Good student. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
