Jacob Salim is a 2016 3B/RHP, UT with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends IMG Academy. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength throughout build. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, gets on top of throws well, shows both carry and strength out of the hand with accuracy across. Works through the ball well with lower half. Two-way potential, up to 87 mph on the mound, hides the ball well through the back with a quick arm action and three-quarter release. Small rock step into leg lift, gathers on pack side before driving to plate. Fastball comes out well and curveball flashed depth at 71 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open and slightly crouched stance with a small leg lift trigger. Wrapped start, shows fluidity in hands and looks to lift at contact. Strength plays in swing and shows nice jump to middle and pull side of field. Long swing but gets the barrel to it, stays inside the ball well and generates nice bat speed through the zone. Named to South Top Prospect List. Good student.
