John Smith is a 2015 OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Wildwood, MO who attends De Smet Jesuit. Large, athletic frame with a projectable build and room to add strength. Ran a 7.08 60 yard dash. Clean actions in the outfield, gets in good position to make the throws, works through the ball well. Long arm action, slight hook in back, flashes arm strength, needs to get on top of throws. Right handed hitter, starts with an even, upright set up with a low hand set. Swing has length but shows solid bat speed and good use of lower half. Consistent contact to the middle of the field, shows strength in swing, ball carries off bat, hard contact in game action. Excellent student. Named to National Underclass Session 3 Top Prospect Team.
