2013 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Marty Kemp is a 2014 C with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Boone, IA who attends Boone HS. Lean athletic build with plenty of room to add strength. Very energetic and active behind the plate. Receives the ball from a spread set up and blocks well. Gains ground and repeats mechanics. Made accurate throws to 2nd and 2.19 pop has plenty of room to improve with increased arm strength. Right handed hitter with spread, no stride contact approach. Could use some weight shift. Showed better in game swing with good balance and bat speed. Very good student.
