Austin Buley is a 2017 RHP/OF, 1B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends McKinney Boyd. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a long, projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows nice balance to delivery with sound directionality and an on line finish, quick and full arm action through the back working to a higher three-quarters release point with nice extension out front. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, mostly true with some downhill plane out of the hand. Showed a feel for three pitches and had command throughout, curveball showed 12-6 shape with nice depth, generated fading life to arm side on changeup at 71 mph. Full arm action from the outfield too, gets good extension out front, short steps to the ball, works over front side, accurate to the bag. Quick pivot off of first base, moves well on feet and fields the ball out front, similar arm action and strength. Two-way potential with righthanded swing, begins with a wide base and an upright stance. Movement to hands at start, shows a full and loose swing plane through the zone and repeats swing well. Line drive swing plane and contact, works all fields and shows carry off the barrel, gets hips through swing well, sound path to the ball. Excellent student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
