Michael Van Degna is a 2015 OF/1B/RHP with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Somerset Academy Charter HS. Tall, strong, mature build with present athleticism. Ran a 7.20 60 yard dash. Shows quick feet at first base and and above average arm in the outfield. Has the athleticism and range for the outfield. Bats right-handed, works from an upright, square stance and has a quiet approach. Line drive hitter with pull power potential. Also took the mound, reaches 84 mph from a high three-quarter arm slot. Works fast and attacks hitters with his fastball. Stays down in the zone. Spins an 11-5 curveball with solid depth at 74 mph and a diving changeup. Impressive two way talent. Excellent student. Named to National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect Team.
