Deaundre "D.J." Roberts is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-2 218 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Atlantic Coast HS. Big athletic build with very good present strength. Uses strong legs and lower half well in his delivery, 3/4's arm slot, some drop and drive to the plate, fast arm coming through. Fastball to 92 mph, good arm side running action at times. limited plate when higher in the zone, challenges hitters aggressively with his fastball. Slider flashes sharp biting action when on top of it, will get on side occasionally for a flatter sweeping shape. Nice change up with good fading action and a similar release point. Has a chance to develop as a starter with three pitches. Verbal commitment to South Florida.
