Ethan Franklin is a 2015 RHP/3B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Evadale, TX who attends Kountze. Tall athletic build, especially strong in the lower half. Side step/leg raise delivery, leans upper body back, over the top release slot, hides the ball and works downhill, good arm speed. Mid to upper 80's fastball, a couple hit 91 mph early but 89 tops after that, has cutting life to fastball when down. Tends to cast curveball and not get out front with it but usually thrown for strikes, has a good release point for a future slider. Potential high velocity future arm, key will be developing secondary stuff and consistent command. Right handed hitter, big load and separation, leans back, uppercut uphill swing, has the strength drive the ball, power approach. Showed his arm strength at third base. Good student.
