Kevin (Alex) Shelton is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Lakeway, TX who attends Lake Travis HS. Tall lanky build, good projection physically. Very long extended arm action, 3/4's arm slot, has deception with front side/arm, fast arm coming through, gets downhill to the plate, not consistent with balance. Steady 86-88 mph fastball, keeps fastball down in the zone consistently, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action, more velocity in his arm with additional strength. Slurve type breaking ball with good 2-plane break at times, will flatten out to slider shape at higher velocities, best with curveball shape. Did not see change up. Has the tools to keep improving with additional strength. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana Lafayette.
