2013 Caribbean Top Prospect Showcase
Ivanniel Vazquez is a 2014 LHP/OF with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Luquillo, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Smaller young build, minimal present strength. Balanced delivery, high arm circle, some arm quickness, 3/4's arm slot, arm is loose and works well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, steady velocity, tends to be straight and up in the zone often. Slow curveball with good 1/7 depth, firm change up with slower body, threw a slider warming up with nice bite but did not throw in game, good potential pitch. Will need to improve on working down in the zone with all pitches. Very good student.
