Matt Ryan is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends St Rita Of Cascia HS. Lean athletic build, room to get stronger. Smooth delivery with a good tempo/pace, high leg lift start, 3/4's arm slot, arm works well, balanced and repeatable on line mechanics. Steady low 80's fastball, topped out at 82 mph, nice arm side running action and sink. Tight spinning hard curveball, good shape when on top, will get under at times. Works quickly and spots the ball with intent to both sides of the plate, has advanced pitchability and throws with confidence and mound presence. Should develop into a solid college pitcher with additional strength and velocity, everything else is there already. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect Team.
