Joel Diaz is a 2016 C/RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Luquillo, PR who attends NLAA/Continental Academy. Tall, lean built with present lower half strength. Ran a 7.81 60 yard dash. Raw arm strength is still developing from behind the plate but makes accurate throws. Bats right-handed, works from a balanced setup and uses a pull side approach. Has a low effort, repeatable swing. Flashes solid bat speed. Uses his hands well but needs more lower half. Also took the mound, tops at 73 mph from a three-quarter arm slot. Mixes a 10-4 curveball that flashes shape and depth at 61 mph. Future is behind the plate.
