Jonathan Rodriguez Romero is a 2014 SS/2B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Cayey, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Compact frame, slender athletic build. Legitimate switch hitter, swung the bat well from both sides of the plate. Good use of lower half from the left side with good bat speed, short to the ball with a contact approach. Good rhythm to right handed swing, good separation of upper and lower halves, good bat speed, sound swing mechanics with use of lower half. Slightly more advanced right handed but has abilities from both sides. Quiet simple approach at the plate, consistent contact. Short arm action in the infield, good footwork, moves well, solid arm strength. Undersized player with very good ability and athleticism, has a chance to develop into a good prospect. Excellent student.
