Edwin Diaz is a 2013 SS/2B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Vega Alta, PR who attends Ladislao Martinez Otero HS. Outstanding athletic build, long and projectable with plenty of present strength already. 7.09 runner, easy graceful shortstop actions, very good hands and balance, short quick exchange and arm action, arm strength is surprisingly good for how compact and quick he is, has all the tools to be a standout defensive shortstop, ignore the 60 time. Right handed hitter, busy hand load, fluid powerful swing with very good extension, whips the barrel but stays pretty short to the ball, big mid field power, hand load can affect timing and effort in swing. Very talented player who will be rising on draft boards quickly this spring. Good student.
