Nick Hoefer is a 2016 OF/2B with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends West HS. Young, slender build with good athleticism. Hits from slightly open stance with knee lift trigger. Rotational swing, closes off front hip well on stride. Good bat speed and hands, line drive swing plane, makes consistent contact all over the field. Worked out defensively both in infield and outfield. Shows loose arm in the outfield with athletic actions. Moves through the ball well and makes accurate throws with solid arm strength, topping at 79 MPH. In the infield is light on feet with range to both sides, moves well throughout, good footwork if a bit deliberate. Topped at 78 MPH on throws across infield. Charges well and clears hips well to throw to 1st Base. Ran a 7.38 60 yard dash. Good student.
