Matt Johnson is a 2015 OF/LHP with a 5-7 170 lb. frame from Urbandale, IA who attends Urbandale HS. Shorter athletic build, good present strength. Left handed hitter, spread stance, rotational swing, stays on his back side, swings hard and has some raw strength and bat speed when pulling. 7.21 runner, moves athletically to the ball in the outfield, good routes and footwork at the ball, battled the winds well on fly balls, arm strength still developing, accurate throws. Also pitched, sound delivery with a compact 3/4's arm slot, throws strikes with three pitches, fastball topped out at 72 mph. Good student.
