Devin Fontenot is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends The Woodlands HS. Medium athletic build, very projectable physically. Deceptive high energy delivery, controls it well and repeats mechanics, 3/4's arm slot, hard for the batter to pick up the ball. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, lots of heavy sinking action, kept the ball at hitter's knees consistently and used his sink to get outs. Slurve-type breaking ball had good spin and sharpness, spotted his breaking ball to both sides of the plate effectively. Nice efficient outing with two quality pitches for strikes. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
