Austin Bocciardi is a 2014 SS/2B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Woodlands Christian Academy. Medium athletic build, has some present strength, looks bigger than listed. 7.15 runner, moves well laterally, quick actions, good hands and balance at the ball, has body control and athleticism, hands and feet work together well, good footwork around the bag on double plays, has next level defensive tools. Right handed hitter, exaggerated open stance with big stride, doesn't always close up and will pull off, timing off, has strength in his swing and ball comes off well when squared, will have to make adjustments at the plate but has raw bat speed to develop. Very good student.
