Connor McCollum is a 2015 RHP/3B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Huntington Beach, CA who attends Marina HS. Strong broad shouldered build, pretty mature physically. Balanced delivery, big leg raise to start, stays tall on his backside, compact arm action with a short stride out front, hides the ball well, works downhill well from a high 3/4's slot. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, has been up to 92 mph this summer, works fastball down in the strike zone, mostly straight, can get fastball to the glove side and elevate when desired. Right curveball spin with sharp 11/5 break, shows a good feel for his curveball. Nice change up with fading action. Polished pitcher with command of three solid pitches and the ability to change speeds. Verbal commitment to San Diego State.
