Alex Vazquez is a 2017 2B/OF/SS with a 5-10 163 lb. frame from Kissimmee, FL who attends Osceola HS. Medium frame with athletic, slender present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.13 seconds. Sets up to hit with very low hand set and wide-based, even stance; loads hands deep and takes synchronized stride forward, creating separation. Gets on line drive swing plane with barrel and is short/compact to the ball with good hand quickness, shows good bat speed and consistently barreled the ball up on time with developing strength off the bat to all fields. Worked out defensively in a pair of spots. Shows good athleticism in infield movements, fields cleanly out front with both hands and good funnel, gathers well and shows solid arm strength across the diamond up to 78 MPH. Takes quick steps to the ball in the outfield with good balance, fields cleanly off of front foot with good momentum and transfers quickly, gets off clean release with outfield velocity clocked up to 80 MPH. Very good student.
