Caleb Balgaard is a 2017 SS/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Fenton, MI who attends Howell HS. Long and lean athletic build, projects well athletically. Right handed hitter, high hand load from a wide hitting base, long and loose swing, gets to his front side well and gets extended out front with some lift, has some bat speed and projects well offensively. Fields the ball cleanly and works through the ball well in the infield, has a quick transfer when charging the ball, arm strength may be short for shortstop at the next level. Very good student, verbal commitment to Indiana.
