Kyle Gonzales is a 2017 C/RHP/OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Huntsville, TX who attends Huntsville HS. Compact catcher's build, some present strength with more to come. Good catching fundamentals, gains ground well in his throwing footwork, quick exchange, nice arm strength with on line carry, 2.05 best pop time, has good overall athleticism and actions on defense. Right handed hitter, straight stance, balance and direct approach, repeats his mechanics well and makes solid line drive contact, high average approach, aggressive early in counts. Also pitched, drifting drop and drive delivery, tight 3/4's release, pretty fast paced, tends to land open on his front side. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, gets good running life and is thrown for strikes low in the zone. Curveball shows some tightness and depth. Was effective and threw some good innings. Good student.
