Owen Meaney is a 2018 RHP/3B/1B with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St Thomas HS. Tall well proportioned athletic build, strong and could get very strong with work, projects well physically. Very simple and basic delivery, turn and throw from a high 3/4's arm slot, should fill up the strike zone when he grows into his size, arm works well. Steady upper 80's fastball, powers it downhill well, primary fastball pitcher this outing, has been up to 91 mph at PG events this summer. Curveball lacked ideal power but had tight spin and hard biting action at times. Showed some feel for his change up. Going to have three solid pitches and throw harder. Very interesting you pitching prospect who will keep getting better. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
