Josh Boyette is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Live Oak, FL who attends Suwannee HS. Boyette has a medium sized frame with a long lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a whippy arm action. Boyette has a quick arm and his arm works. He has an online delivery and works downhill. Boyette changes speeds well and showed pitchability. He has a repeatable delivery and throws 3 pitches for strikes. Boyette throws a 1/7 curveball with tight spin and shape to it. He also throws a change up with sink and run to it. Boyette gets some cut action on his fastball at times and missed barrels well in his outing. Defensively he showed fast twitch athletic actions in the outfield and moves to the ball well. He showed good arm strength up to 87 MPH with smooth transfers. At the plate, Boyette starts with a wide base and a low hand set. He uses a leg lift trigger and has a simple approach at the plate. Boyette made consistent barrel contact and took aggressive hacks. Solid two-way player. Very good student, named to Top Prospect Team.
