Holliday is a very slender 5-11, 130 lb junior right handed pitcher from Dallas. He has a long, loose arm action and a high 3/4's release point. Holliday's fastball was 75-77 mph with good tailing action. His best pitch was a 68 mph change up that had very good deception to it. Holliday also threw a big breaking 60 mph curveball that kept hitters off balance. He mixed all three pitches up interchangeably and threw strikes and got ahead in the count. Holliday is likely an effective pitcher at his present level because of his ability to throw strikes and keep hitters off balance with three pitches. His future will depend on whether he is able to add strength and develop more velocity. Holliday is also a high energy player who keeps his teammates loose and in the game. He's a very good student.
