Julio Canales is a 2016 2B/SS with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Rio Grande, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Medium, lean, young build with room to continue adding strength. Ran a 7.38 60 yard dash. Shows good carry on his throws across the infield and moves his feet well. Has solid lateral range and gets a good first step. Bats right-handed, works from an upright setup and carries his hands high. Hits line drives to his pull side and finishes high with his hands. Projects to improve with added strength. Very good student.
