Kevin Conway is a 2019 RHP/C with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Port Charlotte, FL who attends Port Charlotte HS. Medium, athletic frame with narrow shoulders, long limbs and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, full arm action coming through the back and works to a three-quarters arm slot. Shows looseness to arm action and ball comes out of hand clean and easy. Occasionally upright at release but stays on line and gets on top of ball well, shows good jump and life down to glove side on fastball that topped 83 mph with short running life. Fills up the zone and shows ability to miss bats, mixes off speed well and frequently. Slows arm action on changeup some but generates fading life at 68 mph. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with sharpness when on top and short depth. Receives well behind the plate, incorporates lower half with a long stride towards second, gets on top of throws and accurate to second. Righthanded hitter, starts with an open stance and uses a leg lift trigger. Lowers hands at start, shows feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball. Repeats mechanics well, short swing with a patient approach, line drive plane with occasional uphill at contact. Very good student.
