Sam Cox is a 2015 C/UT with a 6-1 182 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Incarnate Word Academy. Lean athletic build with some present strength. Quick actions behind the plate defensively, good exchange on throws, long arm action with a long stride slows down pop time, fair arm strength, 2.09 best pop time. Switch-hitter, spread bent knee stance both sides, has a calmer more balanced swing approach right handed with a deep hand load, line drive swing plane and some present bat speed, big hand hitch left handed with body bounce timer, can improve left handed with adjustments, has the strength and leverage to develop as a hitter. Also pitched, simple delivery mechanics, fastball topped at 73 mph with a soft curveball, threw strikes. Very good student.
