Matt Whipple is a 2014 RHP/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Windsor Heights, IA who attends Dowling Catholic. Whipple has a medium sized frame with long limbs and a projectable build. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm action. Whipple works quick on the mound and is a strike thrower. He has a slight pause in delivery which adds some deception. Whipple has a clean delivery and projects for more velocity. He throws a tight slider at 75 MPH with good bite to it. His slider is an out pitch and he used it effectively in the showcase game. He also throws a change up at 75 MPH. At the plate, Whipple stays back well and takes his hands to the ball. Outstanding student.
