Zavien Watson is a 2020 3B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and lots of present physical strength proportioned throughout frame nicely. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; employs a simple set of mechanics and shows lots of quickness to hands. Has balance with swing and stays direct to the ball with swing, incorporates physical strength well and creates jump at the point of contact. Gets the barrel to the ball well and shows comfort working to his pull side with extension out front. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front, shows the ability and comfort to drop arm slot on the charge, accurate throws across the diamond, overall actions will continue to develop.
