Riley O'Sullivan is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Spring Valley, CA who attends Valhalla HS. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Right handed pitcher with a smooth paced delivery. Three-quarters arm slot at release with good arm speed through extension, creates slightly cross body action at times. Uses lower half well while drive downhill ot the plate. Ball comes out of hand very cleanly with easy effort in the low 80's. Curveball showed good shape with tight spin and depth down in the zone. Very poised prescence on the mound while mixing pitch speed effectively. Frame and arm action project for additional velocity. Right handed hitter with a narrow, straight stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact with rotational lower half actions. Turns barrel to contact with leverage resulting in consistent, hard contact to the gaps. Also worked out defensively from first base showing good glove actions while funneling the baseball out front. Moves well to both sides with fundamental footwork around the bag. Soft hands while receiving throws from across the infield. Very projectable two way prospect that will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student. Named to 2016 Sunshine West Top Prospect List.
