Ariel Armas is a 2021 SS/C with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends St. Augustine HS. Recorded a 7.50 second 60-yard dash time. Athletic frame with a younger build and room for more strength. Primary shortstop with low effort actions and fields well out in front. Very quick transfer and has good feel out there for the position. Accurate with throws and projects nicely moving forward. Righthanded hitter with an open wide base, downhill swing plane, and direct hand path to contact. Keeps his weight back well with simple mechanics and a solid approach. Top of the order mentality and works well from a gap to gap approach. Puts the ball in play with good overall contact skills. Good student.
