2006 National Underclass Showcase
Daniel Reeves is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'2'', 215 lb. frame from Sunrise FL, who attends St Thomas Aquinas HS. He has a big, powerful body with good physical maturity. Reeves was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Reeves throws from a balanced, deliberate delivery but has an unusual backside arm streoke that can cause an inconsistent release point at times and effects his feel for pitching. Reeves has solid present stuff. His fastball has good sink and run at 84-87, touch 88 mph. His best pitch is a 75 mph slider that has late two-plane breaking action and is a tough pitch to make contact with when he releases it properly. When he's on, Reeves is going to be tough to hit. Reeves is also a pretty good athlete who runs well for hi size, showed good defensive ability at first base and swung the bat with some power. He is also a very good student.
