LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2016 National Showcase
David Lamanna is a 2017 C/MIF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Saddle River, NJ who attends Bergen Catholic HS. Slender athletic build, lots of room to get stronger and will need to as he advances as a catcher. Very quick defensive actions behind the plate, fundamentally sound and repeats his footwork, shifting and throwing mechanics, good arm strength and keeps everything compact, 1.81 best pop time, has a high ceiling defensively if he can get stronger. Right handed hitter, straight stance with a leg lift trigger, has some hidden strength in his hands and creates some bat speed, looks to drive the ball and has gap power, line drive swing plane, gets a good shift into contact and will hit to all fields. Very good student, verbal commitment to Notre Dame.
