Adam Elias is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Paul Laurence Dunbar. Medium frame with slender, athletic build at present; good projection moving forward physically. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.06 seconds. Primary pitcher, high take back into arm circle with good arm speed, throws from high three quarters arm slot and gets downhill well in delivery. Uses lower half well, lands online and stays online through release. Fastball worked 75-80 MPH with occasional arm side run through the zone, did a good job consistently throwing strikes with fastball. Will pronate wrist at release and cut the fastball to the glove side at times. Showed curveball with traditional 11/5 shape, solid depth on pitch with spin and beginnings of sharpness. Sets up to hit from upright, open stance; quiet hands into load with minimal pre-pitch movement overall. Rotational in lower half with some hip torque, line drive swing plane with whole field approach, can go back up middle and flashed ability to hit to all fields. Very impressive defensively, twitchy actions with light feet and obvious athleticism, smooth to the ball and smooth working through it while fielding cleanly. Transfers well and stays athletic through crow hop, gets off quick release on throws with good arm strength and carry, threw up to 83 MPH back to the infield with accuracy.
