2015 Caribbean Top Prospect Showcase
Christian Del Toro is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Trujillo Alto, PR who attends Perkiomen HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build, square shoulders and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows tempo to delivery with a leg lift tuck at top of delivery. Compact arm action through the back working to high three-quarters arm slot, gets on top and creates some downhill angle. Will challenge hitter with fastball, topped out at 88 mph with occasional life while filling up the strike zone, attack approach, effective when elevated. Curveball showed tightest spin with 11-5 shape when thrown hardest. Fields the ball out front in the infield, works through the ball well and gets on top of throws from a shorter arm action. Righthanded hitter, starts with a slightly open stance and a high back elbow. Line drive swing plane, hands stay close to body, shows carry off the barrel and ability to hit to opposite field gap. Moves well down the line. Named to Caribbean Top Prospect List. Good student.
