Max Jung-Goldberg is a 2018 SS with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Palo Alto, CA who attends Palo Alto HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Quick-twitch player, ran a 6.81 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and shows soft hands that play well at the ball, quick transfer into a full arm action through the back, gets on top of throws well, balanced and quick footwork ranging up the middle as well as charging in. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box. Slightly open stance and gets closed at contact well, full swing path coming through the zone with a line drive swing plane, direct to the ball. Does a nice job of generating extension to swing and hitting the ball out front, contact oriented approach with potential for power. Comfort working to middle and opposite fields, solid line drive contact off and shows ability to spin on inner half as well. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to San Diego.
