Richard Gregory is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Gaffney, SC who attends Gaffney HS. Medium athletic build, good present strength. 7.00 runner, athletic actions in the outfield, sound fundamental footwork through the ball and throwing, strong arm with on line carry. Left handed hitter, balanced and fluid swing approach from an open stance, quick hands to the ball, uses his lower half well to generate leverage and power, looks to pull the ball, has gap power and occasional lift, hitting tools to continue to improve. Potential two-way prospect on the mound, high 3/4's arm slot with a quick compact arm action, sound online delivery mechanics, could extend and finish better out front, tends to land on his heel. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Short slurve type breaking ball with tight spin and some bite, flashed a change up that showed good arm speed and some deception. Good student.
