Andrew Gassmann is a 2015 MIF/RHP with a 5-11 177 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar HS. Medium build with some present strength. Right handed hitter, open stance with late close, busy hands loading, has a short hand path to the ball and swings hard, looks to pull the ball and tends to open front side early, handles the barrel well and makes consistent contact. Good runner, 6.87 in the sixty, profiles best in the outfield, arm action is long for the infield with an outfielder's footwork. Also pitched, similar long arm action, fastball topped out at 79 mph with occasional big arm side run, works from the stretch, knuckleball gets pretty good flutter and he hides the grip well with a consistent arm action to his fastball. Good student.
