Dalton Town is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Paola, KS who attends Paola. Medium frame with slinder build and beginnings of wiry strength. Shows an overtop slot with a longer arm swing reaching from the well. Tall and fall mechanics that creates some downhill angle on offerings. Fastball has some cutting actions which runs into right handed hitters with effectively. Fastball ranged from 71-75 mph. Curveball shows 2/7 looping shape with good depth. Able to pound the bottom half of the strike zone with curveball topping at 64 mph, best pitch. Flashed a straight changeup at 65 mph with deceptive arm speed. Also showed a knuckleball that sat in the mid 60's. Threw knuckleball a handful of times and proved to be an effective pitch often in the zone. Tends to throw off a bent front side and shows projectable velocity with future maturity. Great feel for all offspeed pitches with command of the edges and the ability to mix and match pitches in positive and negative counts. Left handed hitter with a narrow, balanced stance at the plate. Downhill swing plane with a mid-field approach. Tends to throw bat head out front with faster front hip actions. At 1B shows smooth funneling actions with quick transitions in throw. Creates some on line carry with accuracy the bags, topped at 73 mph across the infield. Deliberate footwork while surrounding groundballs and setting up to receive. Higher ceiling as a pitching prospect.
