Wilmer Martinez is a 2018 C with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Academia Ponce Interamericana. Slender live bodied athletic build, square shoulders. 7.09 runner, has quick actions and bounce behind the plate, quick release with good arm strength, showed in-game accuracy and quickness with a 1.91 game pop on the bag, also 2.10 from his knees, really threw well in games. Right handed hitter, hard jabbing stride from a straight stance, gets off balance with his stride, tries to keep swing short and direct but will need to improve timing and balance to grow offensively. Defense will carry for now. Good student.
