2015 Caribbean Top Prospect Showcase
Ettenied Garcia is a 2016 C/SS with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Cayey, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy/HS. Medium, athletic frame with present strength throughout and it plays well on both sides of the ball. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, gains short ground with lower half, gets tall out of crouch, full arm action, very quick exchange in game and gets on top of throws well, 1.89 best pop time, accurate throws down to second base. Showed same quick exchange at first base with sound actions. Righthanded hitter, starts with a square stance in the box with a bat wrap at top. Upper body swing with a leg lift trigger for timing. Shows strength off the barrel with hard jump to pull side, keeps hands in on swing and flashed ability to lift when extended out front, occasionally gets to front side early but still shows strength. Named to Caribbean Top Prospect List. Good student.
