2014 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Jared Alarid is a 2014 RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from San Bernardino, CA who attends Citrus Valley HS. Lean young athletic build, projects well physically. Leg raise delivery with some backwards lean, full deep arm circle, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, arm is loose and fluid. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight with good angle to the plate. Throws two types of curveball, softer one with big two-plane shape, harder curveball more slurve shaped with a twisty release out front. Very nice change up, good arm speed with hard sinking and running action at the plate. Has the pitches and delivery to mix it up and hit corners. Maintained velocity well and could gain more as he gets stronger. Named to the Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase Top Prospect Team.
