Ryan Rodriguez is a 2017 RHP/SS with a 6-0 157 lb. frame from Upland, CA who attends Upland. Medium and well-proportioned frame, lean athletic build with longer limbs, broad shoulders, has room to fill out. Works from the first base side of the rubber, high leg raise delivery, comes out and uncoiled well with solid direction to the plate. Long, loose arm-action with small presentation on backside, works through well with good armspeed, releases from high three-quarter's arm slot. Good extension over frontside, solid downhill plane on fastball, up to 88 mph with heater. Keeps fastball down in zone, shows late life when located down near the knees. Pounded the strike zone, also flashed good feel for curveball with 12/6 break. Offering has tight rotation, late bite and solid depth, potential to be a true out pitch at the next level. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
