Jackson Lane is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'8'', 190 lb. frame from Huntersville, NC who attends Hopewell HS. He has an extra tall and lean build but has very coordinated and balanced actions for his size. Lane has a complicated delivery, with lots of extra arm movement in the back including a big stabbing action, and lands open out in front. Despite this he stays balanced well and is able to throw consistent strikes. Lane's arm is clean out front and the ball comes out of his hand easily. He threw 83-86 mph on his fastball and there is plenty more there in the future. Lane threw 86 mph flat footed across the diamond from first base in drills, so his delivery isn't doing him any favors at the moment. Lane's curveball was a quality pitch at 72 mph, it had good downer spin to it and a sharp bite to it. This young pitcher has plenty of potential; he's a good athlete and everything works well. Follow closely. Lane is also a good student.
