Alex Rao is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-4 245 lb. frame from Hobe Sound, FL who attends Oxbridge Academy. Big and strong physical build. Full hands over head delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, creates angle to the plate, loose extension out front, can use his strong lower half better, repeats his mechanics well. Upper 80's fastball, gets good arm side life. Change up has deception with good arm speed and release point. Soft curveball that is thrown for strikes but which would improve with more power. Has good pitchability and should continue to improve with adjustments. Excellent student,, verbal commitment to Notre Dame.
