Sean McGuinnes is a 2017 RHP/MIF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Centereach, NY who attends Centereach HS. Lean, compact build with developing athleticism.Loose arm action, works to 3/4 arm slot, lands slightly closed and works a bit across his body, able to repeat delivery. Fastball up to 78 mph, slight run to armside, commands pitch well. Also mixes in a breaking ball, varied shape, more of a curveball at times, shows more sweeping slider tilt in other instances, still developing command and feel of offerings. Shows advanced feel for the craft of pitching, will mix pitches astutely. Also plays infield, still growing into body, flashed good actions in the infield, could work through the ball more consistently, shows ability to make accurate throws from various arm slots. Right handed hitter, open stance setup, starts with high hands. Short, direct path to ball, showed ability to use entire field, performed best with solid line drive contact to the pullside. Very good student.
